Order a Test
Proper specimen management is the first step in ensuring test accuracy
Laboratory tests provide essential insights into a patient's health, and the accuracy of these results is crucial for making informed diagnostic and therapeutic decisions.
If you are new to ProCare Medical Laboratory, please call us at 3529 1983. We can answer any questions you may have and get the process started for you.
Clinicians can request supplies of laboratory requisition forms and specimen collection containers to streamline the ordering.
From Preparation to Pickup
We're with you every step of the way, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience throughout the process.
- Before each specimen collection, review the specific specimen type required, the necessary volume, collection conditions, patient preparation guidelines, and storage and handling instructions.
- Time-sensitive tests will be indicated in the specimen requirement column. It is important to inform the laboratory before specimen collection so that any special pickup arrangements can be made.
- Provide patients with clear instructions ahead of time regarding collection procedures, including any fasting, dietary, or medication restrictions that may be necessary for the specific test.
- For fasting requirements or medication restrictions, please refer to the guidelines shown in our price book.
- The request form must be completed legibly, preferably in printed format, to prevent misinterpretation of patient demographics, requested tests, and clinical information.
- The following details should be included:
- Patient’s full name
- HKID or Passport number
- Date of birth
- Referral doctor’s full name
- Collection date and time
- Test requested

- See our Guideline for Collecting & Handling Specimen.
- Different specimen containers may be required for different tests. Please check the "Specimen Requirement" column or phone us if in doubt.
- To ensure result accuracy, specimens will be rejected under the conditions in the "Specimen Rejection Principles".
- Call us at 3529 1983 to place an order and arrange a convenient time for specimen pickup from your clinic or office by our dedicated courier team. You can also send the specimen to our locations. See details here for sending a specimen.
